A faux beauty vlog was created with Monica Nelson, in response to the 2016 election, Le Balm follows a makeup vlogger named Madeleine who decides to convert her many followers into radical activists by smuggling coded messages about overthrowing the regime into her beauty product reviews and tutorials. After seeing publications like Vogue try to marry political despair to beauty marketing with articles like "best depuffing eye creams if you've been crying all night!”, Corrigan wanted to create a character that was taking this idea — that self-care can be a radical political act — to its natural conclusion.
